More observations of Christians opposing single-payer and other healthcare reforms.

I've observed many Christians opposing healthcare reforms, especially single-payer. Many say "We have the world's best health care, why tamper with that?" Actually, we are 37th from being the world's best. Yes, we have the world's best care for the filthy rich.

I am a born-again Christian. You may even be surprised to find a Christian who supports single-payer HR-676. All Christians are Republicans; I guess I am and I'm not a Republican. I have voted for Bush in 2000, but not 2004. In all honesty, I can not be a Christian, knowing what I know, and stand up for our current barbaric type of healthcare system. Furthermore, we don't even have a healthcare system, we have a disease control system. We have a business system that makes money off of sick people.

Many Christians say we can't have universal healthcare because we'll have free abortions. In all honesty; I don't see how shunning universal healthcare will prevent any abortions. I am also afraid that the rate of illegal abortions that put the woman's life in danger will skyrocket, because of people unable to afford insurance fearful they can't afford the medical costs associated with regular pregnancies and pregnancies with complications, or provide healthcare to the child.

As for, "If we have universal healthcare we'll have free abortions and abortions will skyrocket." I really believe the very opposite is true. Our current cut-throat type of healthcare is severely undermining the morality of this nation, especially of those who seemingly can take having health insurance for granted. This system is training people to disregard human life; this is eroding away at the nations morals. This is what will cause abortions and euthanasia skyrocket. Our morally degrading barbaric healthcare system doesn't make anybody a stronger Christian. I just about say, no real Christian can support the American for-profit healthcare; but I realize they were fooled by lies told by the insurance companies.

Some time back I wrote an essay "Why I Believe Christians Should Call For Healthcare Reforms." I have also placed it in one of the discussions.

My purpose of this discussion, or my involvement in this ning is not to discuss what is wrong with abortion. I believe abortion is wrong; but YOU follow your conscience on what you believe to be right or wrong. I have wrote a song; seems to talk against abortion; but the purpose is not to kick those who are pro-choice (abortion is okay); but to kick butt with those who are pro-life (against abortion), like hey brother, I agree with your stand! But, when someone dies because they lack health insurance this is abortion; too. I will attach the lyrics.

I also recall our Lord giving so much regard to our poor, especially in the letter of James. Our Lord Himself said "Blessed are you poor, for you will receive great wealth in Heaven." Prov 22:22 Do not rob the poor because he is poor; do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will hear their case and plunder those who plundered them.

I also see the harsh collection practices of the health care providers as a blatant violation of the Hypocratic Oath. Every Doctor has to take an oath promising to do no harm. I may more justify harsh collections of provider proving they want a system that lets them not have to do it. I realize it costs money for them to provide care. The Bible says that a Workman is Worthy of his wage, especially those who sacrificed so much to become doctors. It is not that the providers don't deserve a fair compensation; but we need to change how they receive their fair compensation.

The compensation needs to come via taxes through HR-676. Doctors are worthy of fair compensation. The health insurance CEO's don't earn $5M annual pay.

Socialized medicine, NO, we don't call it socialized medicine. But, even if it is socialized medicine we have socialized police department; frankly, I am glad we have this little bit of communism and hope they come to my aid if I am perpetrated. Socialized Fire Department, I'm glad we have this little bit of communism, too; I hope they come if my house catches fire. Public School system, Socialized education; I'm glad we have this little bit of communism; largely almost eliminated illiteracy. Healthcare is to be a police, fire department and a military battling an enemy we call diseases.

A-For-Da-Ble Health' will save our economy,
it is in the best interest of everybody,
if every job moves out of the country,
than (tell me) whose gonna pay the medical fee?

I hope these bring in some food for thought and hope to hear some feedback from other members.

I love you all.

Bear Hugs,

John also known as Hai
